Prior to an upcoming game against a side who like to play out from the back, this session looks at how the Blue team can combat this strength, and even attempt to exploit it.
The objectives are to delay the team from playing out, with the end goal of forcing them to play long, or ideally, stealing the ball high up the pitch and creating goalscoring opportunities.

Ball rolled out to RCB,
#9 takes up position to prevent pass through to opposite CM
#11 Takes up position between FB and RCM, where he can press if the ball is played in to the full back,
#10 moves into position to press pass in to CM, #7 takes up position between CM and FB, to be able to press FB if ball goes in there, pressure CM if ball beats the #9.
Screeners protecting the quick ball in to the red CAM.
This allows the only open pass to be to the opposite CB.
As the ball goes to the next CB players shuffle across to make the same positions for the opposite CB having the ball.
Key Factors
Retreat initially to allow ball out to CB
Concentration of all players in fulfilling roles, or gaps will open
Communication - Particularly from CMs to #9, to ensure his positioning is correct to block pass
Awareness of movements of opponents
Discipline - maintain shape and don't try to win the ball on own.

By cutting out the options for the reds to play forward, we have negated the threat of them playing from the back, and they may instead have to force a long pass, direct to the opposite wing/direct to the forward. Which would be a far more difficult pass to complete, and hopefully we can win it back.
In this function, this may be represented, by the CB going direct for the far goal (blue line), a difficult pass to play and likely resulting in blues gaining possesion.

With passing options successfully cut off, WHAT IF CB steps out with the ball
#11 shuffles across to a position to press pass to FB, #10 tighter to CM, #7 tucks in on CM, Screen Shuffles across to protect ball straight from CB in to Wide player/goal
In order for all this to be possible, it is important the #9 angles his run to protect against the CB switching play to FB/CB and catch us out over covering across.

Organisation
Allow ball to centre back to receive, Striker begins slow gentle pressure (green line), towards covering the pass to the opposite centre back, allowing ball out to full back. This differs from the movement the forward made previously, and is the cue for the rest of the side, that they are going to press the full back.
On Ball out to full back, pressing begins.
Wide player arcs runs, to first cut off the easy out ball down the line, and then to press, the striker changes path, to cut off ball back to CB/GK, #10 pushes in to squeeze pressure on full back, while cutting off ball to CM, Far wide player, tucks in and pushes up slighlty to cover crossfield ball to other full back.
Nearest Screener steps forward to protect zone vacated by pressing players, far screener to protect hopeful hook forward to target player, and intercept.

Organisation
Following the pressing of the full back his options are limited to a hurried ball forward, prior to the pressure closing in, which our screen should intercept, or a risky pass across goal to the far CB, which #9 and far wid man, may incept and open up a goalscoring opportunity.
WHAT IF, full back manages the crossfield outball?

Recovery
If FB manages a good pass out, stong enough #7 cannot press, the unit must go back to delaying play,
#7 drops back in to protect the out ball down the line, to the small goal
Screeners shuffle across to stop quick ball in to Red 10, Blue #9,#10,#11, all must recover across and deeper to stop balls into midfield, allowing reds to have the ball at the back.
