Technical Game: Bull Rush (10 mins)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Objective is for all players to try and get from end to end without being caught by defender in the middle



  • ROUND 1: NO BALL Build up. Every time a player gets tagged or gets a bib pulled, they become a defender. 

  • ROUND 2: WITH BALL: Build up. Defenders must win the ball and score in the goal for the attacker to be caught

  • ROUND 3: WITH BALL: No Build up. Defender swap with the attacker who they won the ball off. 


COACHING CONSIDERATIONS:

  • Potentially start with an introduction of skills

  • Variation of 1 ball between two players to play around defenders

  • The width of the field dependant on numbers in group

1 v 1: Penalty Box Chaos (15 mins)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Game is setup as shown with a 1 v1 in the middle and the Coach feeding the balls.
  • The Game starts with the Attacking (Pink) player dropping in to receive the ball from the coach. Defender cannot move until the attacking player touches the ball.
  • Attacking player looks to turn the defender and score as quickly as possible.
  • As soon as possible, get the next players on.

    • Incentivise to encourage scoring from further out?!

    Tactical Game: Wembley Doubles (20 mins)

    INSTRUCTIONS:

    • Start with 4 teams of 2’s. or 3 teams of 3
    • Objective is to score and progress to the next round
    • Once a team have scored, they leave the field to play as wall players
    • The last two that don’t score are eliminated and will only be wall players for following rounds
    • Continue until there is a winner
    • Each time a goal is scored or the ball goes out, the coach throws a new ball in play (including a GK catching the ball)
    • If the ball is won in the zone closest to the goal, it must come out before into the middle zone before that team can score. 

    COACHING CONSIDERATIONS:

    • Field size
    • If there are too many players to make teams of three
    • Play two round ones to account for keepers

    • Can only score from the attacking half (big goals with GK)

    • Can only score from inside the scoring zones (small goals)
