First session in the new year.

Getting back to the basics of hockey with push passes and forehand recives.

Establishing the principle of forehand to forehand as the way we want to play hockey in TLK .

In addition trying new coaching techniques. With the planned sessions, freeze frames, included warm-up.

Warm-up match with joker goalkeepers:15 mins

Warm-up match with joker goalkeepers:

 

teams can score points by shooting gooals or passing into the goalkeeper who is somewhere on the pitch trying to avoid the ball.

Teams should make the decission weather to go for goal or goalkeeper. Ball to be keept flat at all times. No balls can be played into the goalie from behind.

Push pass 110 mins

Forhand push passes

 

Players in 3 m distance, push passes into the forehand of the other player.

Pay attention to proper basic grip and follow through of the movement.

Receiving the ball with the forehand and getting ready to pass again.

Progression: Increase the distance of the passes to half and later full width. Increase the speed of the passes.

Push pass 25 mins

Forhand push passes - 2nd progression

 

Players in half pitch distance. Reicive the ball face the next player and play a pass.

Add another ball after 3 passes. Once all balls are at one and change direction of play.

 

Progression: Intorduce a 2nd ball after 2 passes.

 

Goalkeeper can train pressision of kicks by joining

Forehand push passes - 3rd progression

8+players

4 balls

4 player pass a ball to players in half field distance

4 player recive the ball and carry it to the next position and play a pass from there

other players are progressing to the next position.

5 vs 5 match:

Normal hockey rules with additional rule:

To keep people playing passes from forehand to forehand 2 backhand receives within 10 passes count as a foul and the other team recives the ball.

 

If many situations occure in which positioning for forhand receive is bad we will work on it with freeze frames and rehearsals.

 

Possible changes:

1 backhand recive in 5 passes are a foul

1 backhand recive in 3 passes are a foul
